St. John's Union Church has a rich history of two blended congregations
with great beginnings over 150 years ago and continuing to thrive today,
growing and keeping pace with today's changing society. Nestled in the
hamlet of Farmer's Mills on the crossroads between Routes 45 and 192 in a
quiet country setting, you will find a white church known as St. John's.
Step inside and you will be most welcome and feel at home in this Christ
centered congregation. It won't be long until you understand why St. John's
is one of the few successful union congregations . Here we gather,
worship, and enjoy the fellowship of one another as brothers and sisters in
Christ.
One of the many advantages to a union congregation is that the congregation
shares in the uniqueness of both the United Church of Christ and the Lutheran
Worship Services, celebrating our differences yet embracing our same faith
and love of Jesus Christ. At St. John's we seek to share the love of Christ
with all; our mission is to serve Christ in our community. The
congregation, though made up of Lutheran and United Church of Christ members
work together in love and harmony, serving the same Lord and Savior and
letting His Light shine in the world.
In addition to the unity of two congregations within our church, we have
three sister churches, within our two Parishes. Our Lutheran sister in the
Spring Mills Lutheran Parish is New Hope Lutheran Church
of Spring Mills.
Our U.C.C. sister churches are Grace UCC Church in Spring Mills and Emmanuel
Church in Tusseyville, together with St. Johns these three churches make up
the Tri-Penn UCC Charge.
